Myers is back with "Tea & Sympathy," a self-release on
her new label, Fruit Loop Records. Myers will be most
familiar to UK fans who remember her past successes,
"Kiss the Rain" and "Tell Me." The good news here,
Myers' sultry voice and ability to weave interesting
melodies and poignant stories into a song remains
intact. Her new single, a ballad titled "I Hope You're
Happy Now," was released on July 7, 2009 and tells a
story of love and loss.
Another stand-out on the record is
"Lady Jane," a song which tells of a star's well-known
public persona while the reality of her personal life
remains hidden.
It's unfortunate that this record
doesn't have the strength of a larger label to back it.
It's obvious that Myers poured a great deal of herself
into this album and it's possible that sales will suffer
without the support of a higher profile release.
All in all, this is a really good
album that deserves to be heard.
