Ed Hale is located in New York, New York, a city known for many things. With creativity so abundant, I was disappointed when I heard "Ballad on Third Avenue," although Hale's lyrics are creative, I felt I was listening to Bono of U2. If you were to play Hale and Bono side by side you might find it hard to distinguish to whom you were listening. You maybe thinking, " Well then the writer isn’t a U2 fan" and therefore is finding Hale’s music in the same place. On the contrary, I am just looking for a sound that can stand away from others. I did not see it with Hale’s effort. The album lacks the energy and uniqueness that I was seeking, but I will leave it to the listeners to decide for themselves. Check out Hale's Web sites above.
