Joe's Grotto, Scottsdale Az.

Age of Evil is...
Jeremy Goldberg - Vocals, Guitar
Jordan Ziff - Lead Guitar
Jacob Goldberg - Bass
Garrett Ziff - Drums
I caught up with Age of Evil at a
recent show in north Scottsdale at Joe's Grotto. This was my first
time seeing AOE live, as well as my first trip to the Grotto, so I
wasn't entirely sure what to expect.
Let's start the review with a
word: ENERGY. The band is very polished on stage and given that
Joe's Grotto is a fairly small venue, AOE put on a performance that
would have fit on a much larger concert stage. They used every inch
of that stage to feed their music to a hungry the audience.
I was impressed by several
things. First of all, Jeremy Goldberg is a good front man. He takes
control of a show from beginning to end, never allowing the
audience's attention to be diverted. Secondly, the remaining members
of AOE are equals to Jeremy's challenge. Jacob Goldberg is solid on
the bass and handles much of the background vocals. Garrett Ziff
thunders behind the drum kit, banging out the twos and fours. And
lead guitarist, Jordan Ziff, steps to the front of the stage and
shreds. The boy can play guitar!
AOE played a full set that
included "You Can't Change Me" and the title track from their latest
EP, "Get Dead," before calling it a night with their cover of
Skidrow's "Slave to the Grind." It was a great set and solid
performance, I was impressed.
As some of you know, we featured
Age of Evil here on the pages of DaBelly last month. Make sure you
