Jim Curry does Denver
right
Jim Curry and his wife, Anne,
have long been performing the music of John Denver.
And they do it quite well, as it has gotten them
gigs on cruise lines around the globe and enough
land lubber concerts to allow them to devote
themselves into their passion full time. This night,
Jim Curry had a full band and was performing at
Ontario Nazarene Church to raise funds for college
scholarships. Just because he was "giving away" his
show didn't make it any less, if anything, it was
more than I expected.
Curry offered up two sets and, as
usual, encouraged the audience to sing along. Songs
included "Calypso," "Annie's Song," "Sunshine on My
Shoulders" and a long list of other Denver's hits.
Plus Curry performed a few of his originals that
were good enough to be on the radio. He was only
allowed one encore, although the audience would have
been happy to stay for another hour... or two!
