While at the Arizona Renaissance Faire this year, I came across a CD by drummer David Macejka. When I first saw this entertainer, he was playing drums in the bag pipe band Tartanic. Of course, with Macejka dressed in a kilt, you would have never thought that this drummer had created such a wonderful CD backed with so much flavor.
“Poi for Gadje” is a belly dancer’s dream come true in Middle Eastern music. A world sound that is finally starting to be noticed here in the United States, this CD offers a heavy drum influence that will set the hips of both dancer and non-dancer’s in motion. If you are a lover of drum-infused music, this effort just might be up your alley. If you are a practitioner of "Dance Oriental,” you will not be disappointed.
