Kamelot - Talking About The Shadow Theory
By Dave Schwartz

Kamelot released the highly anticipated “Shadow Theory” last April and quickly embarked upon a North American tour with label mates Delain and Battle Beast.  Truly the best way to test the strength of a new record is in front of their fans and it was obvious that they weren’t disappointed.

In some aspects “Shadow Theory” expands on the foundation created by Kamelot’s previous release, “Haven.”  Lyrically, artificial intelligence continues to be one of the subjects explored, albeit with a musically darker feel.  But one should not look at “Shadow Theory” as an extension of “Haven.”  They are completely separate entities.

One glance at Kamelot’s itinerary for 2018 and you know that they will be everywhere.  With the North American tour behind them, Kamelot will return to Europe for a string of festival dates and a major European tour.  Later in the year Kamelot will record a new live DVD (their second) at the 013 in Tilburg, Netherlands on September 14, 2018.  To close out the year they will be heading to Japan for several dates.

I climbed aboard the tour bus to talk with guitarist Thomas Youngblood and learn more about “The Shadow Theory.”  Check out the video!
